The Computer Help section is for those in need of help regarding their computer, whether it be software/hardware issues or just general enquiries. Why does every movie i download from here turns into an mp3 file ?

for example i tryed downloading the movie

Hard.Ride.To.Hell.2010..avi

after it finished downloading iwanted to watch it and when i start watching it it turns into an mp3 file .... and the only thing u can see is sound...... no movie or anything


can anyone please help =[?

It was a .AVI and and just changed to a .MP4, That is strange. Was the movie 700 MB, that is the size a movie in .AVI format should be: the same movie in .MP4 would only be about 330 MB. To watch MP4 videos on your PC all you need do is download and install this K Lite codec pack . I prefer to download MP4; because it is much faster, and the video quality doesn't look that much different to me.

yes the size was 700+ ithink this happened because idownloaded this converter because i really wanted to change those windows media player videos to itunes so idownloaded this converter ideleted it later on because ididnt like it then the next day itried downloading more movies and everytime iwatch them they turn into mp3 sad.gif if you think their is something ican do about it please tell me step by step smile.gif

I don't really understand your problem, but I do think you should try VLC. It's a great media player; good for even when you're not trying to diagnose a problem like this.

Anyway, could someone move this to the Computer Help section? I don't think this belongs here...

Try K-lite Codec Pack. You got that Sound On;y Problem because you dont have the specific codec to play .AVI Movies.


K-lite is one method to play it tho. Another way is to use VLC Media Player that everyone above Told you.

It sounds like you deleted the shortcut it put on your desktop; but didn't remove the program from Add/Remove programs on your control panel. It also sounds like you have this program set to start automatically, I'll bey you will find it running in the system tray when you expand it, it must be set to auto-convert all videos it finds on your computer.
If you can't find it in Add/Remove Programs, try a System Restore and that may get rid of it.

yeah, Do what goldfinger said. Don't delete just the Icons. Uninstall it. If you keep on deleting just the icons, You will soon end up with a Corrupted Registry and some dirty OS. wink.gif
