First of, Why Update to 5.03 GEN-C? Is your friend using PSP 3000? (I guess not since PSP3000 CFW only works on 5.03 not 5.00)

Please Clear this 2 questions for me. Thanks!

If your friend's PSP has 5.03 firmware then is good.

You can use this: http://www.psperspective.net/index.php?showtopic=23042

I think its fine to Update from 5.00 M33 to 5.03. Are you sure on doing this?

And to get 5.03 OFW. You just download the Update Firmware from the Official Sony Playstation Site.

This will remove CFW Abilities if you do it. So don't come here saying I didn't warn you. IM not really sure of what your thinking to do...

all i want to do is update the 5.03 M33-6 to 5.03 GEN-C, I'm just not really sure if its safe to update 5.03 M33-6 to 5.03 GEN-C. Cause all i know is it's only safe to update 5.03 OFW to 5.03 GEN-C by using ChikhenR2 and CFWEnabler.

then i want to know how to downgrade 5.03 M33-6 to 5.03 OFW. Thanks for answering my question in advance.

Go download the 5.03 OFW to Sony Official Site.

But before you do this. Tell me What PSP Type you have? Phat, Slim, Brite?

He have a PSP Slim.

Just to be clear..

So all I have to do is download the OFW at Sony Official Website. Then install it like any CFW.(Put the update file on the PSP/Game Folder.

Then after i do that i can now modify it by using ChikhenR2,CFWEnabler and 5.03 Gen-C.

Em I right sir??

Right. BUT

Are you really sure of what your doing? Your PSP seems to be hackable with Full CFW. Why Use 5.03 GEN-C when there is 5.50 GEN-D3 (Final) Ready to be installed? huh.gif

EDIT:

I apologize for my past comments about this. I got a little Misread about your Firmware. You got 5.03 M33-6 Right?
So no need of downloading OFW 5.03. I thought you got 5.00 thats why I told you to download it. Ok So you just have to get this: http://pspslimhacks.com/custom-firmware-5-03-gen-c-released/ Then Put that to PSP/GAME Folder. Now on your PSP, Go and Run it BUT while holding the L Shoulder. It should go on Emergency Installer. Press X to Install. It will go to XMB Itself. Now you got 5.03 GEN-C.

Again, I apologies for my wrong comments.

Regards,
SolidState/Proton
