So, stop me when I'm wrong.
1. You bought a PSP with Custom Firmware 5.00M33
2. Your relative updated it to Official Firmware
3. You want to go back to Custom Firmware
Please reply with the following information:
1. Your PSP Model (If it's a 2004 or a 3000, please include your motherboard version)

ok you might wanna try formating the memory stick by going to system setting and going down to the format option and by pressing yes. the format will help in some cases. if u need any more information just pm me.

We need to get a plugin that locks flash0 soon...
Sounds like there's nothing to do because Sony won't allow you to downgrade any firmware. You basically went through a one-way door to OFW.

harleymandvdson, don't advice things in field you do not know about
DanJ101 upgrading to ofw isn't one way you know
USMarine, if he had 5.00 m33, he can't have anything other than phat or fully flashable slim.
nammeneo, go get somewhere pandora battery + magic memory stick and use it to downgrade. Insert mms (magic memory stick), then battery (pandora one), press and hold button required (difference , for me it up button), then you will see menu where you should see test m33, select it. connect usb, now get recovery flasher 1.60 from somewhere and 5.00 eboot (for ofw), rename Eboot of ofw into 500.pbp and copy to root of ms and put recovery flasher folder into psp/game/. disconnect usb, go game, find recovery flasher, launch it, now press Install CFW (of version selected above) , reset setting when asks and wait. when it finished you'll get 5.00 m33-6
p.s. don't forget to press select when you turn it on with 5.00 m33 and set umd iso mod to m33.

you can get 5.50 Gen custom firmware and play games that require 5.50 + firmwares from your memory card. You will first need to use a pandora battery to put on custom firmware, the four times I have done it I used RainUltraLite MMS Maker for 5.00, recovery flasher 1.60 sounds as it follows the same steeps to install, both require this official 5.00.pbp.
So you would simply download RainUltraLite, and the 5.00.pbp to the same location on your computer. Connect your PSP and put it in USB connect mode, with the memory stick to be used as your MMS in the PSP, Start the program on your compute There will be a checkbox to format the memory stick That is recomended; be prepared to lose all the data currently stored on the memory stick so back it up first. and Start
Simply disconnect from the computer, shut off your PSP and hold down the L shoulder button as you insert the battery, all times for me the PSP started without switching the power on that's why I have to hold the L shoulder button as I insert the battery.
Note: for a Slim PSP a Fat Pandora will work, you have to hold it in as it installs CFW. A battery designed for a Slim PSP will not work in a Fat PSP.
if you check system information your PSP is now running on CFW 5.00 m33
Now Download 5.50 Gen D (full) and download the instructions in that download. No pandora or MMS needed for this upgrade.
You can now download & play those 5.51 games from your memory stick.
