Is it just that game? If it only happens in one game, the fault may be a bug or a glitch.
Or maybe it's your D-Pads. In the game, can you move the character with the D-Pads too?
Try other games, or even try playing a song on the PSP to see if it fasts forwards by itself or something.
Try to experiment with it to see where this does and does not happen.

Ok here's the problem: It's under the analog stick. It has dirt or somthing stick to to that makes it move with out you touching it.

P.S My Cousin has this problem to until we cleaned it.

Use MacroFire. Its a plugin that lets you decide on a dead zone for your analog so any movement inside the dead zone is not read by the psp. You can find it in the PSP Application center.

I have the same problem with my PSP Fat before. Please make sure that you tighten up the screw of your Analog stick and clean the part where you will put your Analog on the Mobo.

I don't know if your using Fat. But My PSPs analog stick can be removed without taking the "Whole" of it so I can clean the inside a bit. (Just like what Hyperz said)

If still nothing works, Try what icejack said. use the Plugin called MacroFire.
