Didn't know where else to put this.

I have a panasonic HT800v, and a panasonic 5.1 surround sound system. the Subwoofer only connects to the DVD player, not the TV, so i was wondering if there was some way i could hook up either my POS2 or the TV so that i can play with surround sound. Thanks!

If it says input, then it's not going to output your sound. I need a little more info on your setup, and I can help. Stereos are what I do. Generally, the easiest thing to do is to take your video cord (yellow) from your PS2, and plug it into the tv. Then, take the audio plugs (red and white), and they need to be connected to the input on your stereo. A simple adapter should do the trick, or my favorite is an input switch box. If this isn't enough to help you out, post some more info.

well its not a stereo, its a subwoofer 5.1 system, no way to plug my audio cables in. thats why iw anted to input the sound from the PS2 into the DVD, so then it would use the Surround sound.

So it's a subwoofer with 5 speakers? That's a stereo. The sub acts as the receiver or the dvd player does?

the sub. the five speakers go into the sub, then the sub plugs into the DVD player. there are no other ports on the Sub, and it can't be plugged into the TV.

Ok, so what type of cord goes from the DVD player to the sub? A set of red and white RCA's?

I looked up your stereo. I thought the model number you posted was for the tv, but I looked it up. Here is the page for your stereo's manual and troubleshooting. It does say that it has auxiliary audio inputs. And it seems the dvd player is the receiver, it's part of the actual system. So, I'm guessing there is a place to plug your ps2's audio cords into the dvd player. Let me know if you still can't get it.

Ok, It took me a little while to get around to doing it, but it worked. I found in the manual that theres a channel selection thing, but you have to be on VCR. then you can switch it to AUX. The weird thing is that if i set the DVD volume too loud (because it i turn the TV up, it overshadows the surround sound, so i have to turn the TV down to about 30 and leave the DVD played pretty high) the speakers will sort of just stop working. then i have to restart the DVD player. Well, Thanks, it sounds great! You can go ahead and close this thread.
