I am trying to get a dual boot thing going on here. I currently am running Windows 7 on my G60-125NR HP laptop. Firstly, I've found that there are several iterations of OS X. Each with their own hardware issues? I'm looking for one that will run well on my laptop. Wraith's iDeneb post says that it may not run on my AMD chip. As I've never tried dual booting, I'm a little wary of messing it up. I was just hoping for someone to point me in the right direction. Thank you for reading.

It's been a week and no responses. Can't anyone just paste a link or something in here to help me out? Wraith, I know you know what I need. Why will no one respond?

It's Hard for Mac os systems to run on HP's but it does work as for the version I would go with the latest one. I am not familiar with the mac drivers on HP but i am familiar with the HP drivers on Mac (if you know what i mean) but it is possible. Are you going to download the version of Mac you want to install or buy it. or Which one do you have already?

I planned on downloading one, and the only one that I've found to download that I would trust is Wraith's iDeneb, but it won't run on mine. I've found out how to actually install it and set up a dual boot, but not a version that I can use. At least, not that I've found. Thank you very much for your reply, Banshee.

my iDeneb image should work, but I would recommend finding a newer iDeneb, you might be able to find a snow leopard image somewhere (iDeneb is Leopard)
HP's commonly work as Hackintosh's because they use a lot of the same internal parts as Apple does (as much as Apple will deny it)

I'll try iDeneb first, and let you know if that doesn't work. Thank you.

iDeneb should work? I just thought it said no AMD chips. I will give that a try. Seeing as to how I'm on a fairly fresh install, I shouldn't have too much to worry about losing, thanks guys, I'll let ya know how it goes.

As a virtual machine no it won't work, but a newer version should work fine for AMD, so try looking for a torrent that says it's AMD compatible, if you need a torrent, I should be able to find a good one.

It should work, I've never messed with the light edition though. Make sure that you install the correct kexts (sorta like drivers for a hackintosh)

Ok, so I can't get that version to work. I boot from the disc, and the prompt comes up and I try to load the startup utilities (actually, the installation, too), and it starts loading the files and then freezes. I also noticed that the build is from Sep. of '08. I'm going to try your iDeneb and see how that flies.

You might want to try looking up hackintosh tutorials, as well. Also be aware that not everything will work without a kext mod.
