This short tutorial will show you how to bypass the Windows 7 Activation update.

To Hide the Windows Update/Disable it From Ever Installing:
1. Go to Windows Update
2. Click to View Your Optional Updates
3. Right Click the one Labeled “Update for Windows 7″ with update ID “KB971033″
4. Click “hide update.”

Uninstall KB971033 Windows 7 Activation Checker

For those of you who HAVE installed it and want to uninstall it
1. Go to Windows Update
2. Hit Installed Updates (link at the bottom left corner). If that link isn’t there, hit “view update history” and hit the “installed updates” link at the top.
3. Scroll down to the section titled “Microsoft Windows” and look for update KB971033.
4. Right click it and hit “uninstall”. Hit okay.
5. Reboot
6. Now check for updates again and follow the above method to hide it from installing ever again!

If you are flagged as having an Un-Genuine copy of Windows 7:

Rearm Windows:
1. Copy down these instructions into notepad and save it to your desktop.
2. Go to start -> hold shift and click run (If you do not see run, simply type run in the start menu’s search box and click it while holding shift)
Note: Holding shift while clicking run opens up run in administrative mode, which is necessary for this process.
3. Type in “command” or “cmd” and press enter.
4. In the command prompt window type or right click -> paste:

echo reg load HKLM\MY_SYSTEM “%~dp0Windows\System32\config\system” & reg delete HKLM\MY_SYSTEM\WPA /f & reg unload HKLM\MY_SYSTEM > %SystemDrive%\resetrearm.cmd

5. Now you will need to boot from your copy of Windows. Go put that bad boy in and boot to it.
6. When its loading press Shift+F10 to get access to command prompt for advance operations.
7. Once command prompt is loaded, type the following:

d:\resetrearm

8. When prompted for a product key, hit cancel.
9. You can reactivate using the easy method or by going to command prompt and typing either:

cslmgr /ipk

or

slmgr /ipk

And then put in your serial key.
10. Reboot and your good to go~!

I will be posting a windows 7 loader pack in the near future with loaders that are reported to work even with this update installed.

Update: As promised here is a KB971033 ready loader

One of my friends called me today he says his Windows 7 desktop went black, I explained how this was caused by a Windows Update I told him how to remove, it and it was there, he did uninstall it and restart. He said that didn't fix it, I told him I had turned off the auto install on my computer before it came out so I didn't know what else to try, I emailed him this method you listed to bypass the genuine check and I told him when you posted those new loaders I would forward that to him.
So when are you going to have that up?

Hey err.. If you're already flagged with the un-genuine sign and you follow your instructions to rearm Win 7, will it wipe my hard drive? Or will my stuff still be there?

Thanks

well, you should do the first option, which is to hide the update no matter what, but if you happened to get flagged, follow the other instructions.

If your system is flagged, it won't whipe the hdd, it will shut down every few hours and not save data, so it's best to avoid the trouble all together by hiding the update.
