Log On/Log Off Virus.
First off, your data is safe so DO NOT PANIC. All of it can be recovered. Think of the data that you made on your computer as a separate thing from Windows itself. (because it is!) Windows is just an Operating System, a special kind of computer program made to run other computer programs or read certain files. Windows is made up of MANY parts, and sometimes those parts need to be replaced, just like any other machine. We're going to check certain parts of the system to make sure everything is running the way it should.
Did you recently install some software, update a virus scanner, do a Windows Update or run a Spybot: Search & Destroy scan with an older version of Spybot and now when you try and log on to Windows XP it automatically logs you off?
You will Need:
* Windows XP CD-ROM
* Working PC System
* Internet Connection
* CD Burner
* Blank CD
This is what it looks like.
There are 2 ways. (Number 2 is the easiest).
1) Many people do not have more than 1 computer therefore its best to use number 2. But i have still typed this one aswell for those with 2 or more computers/laptops
* Firstly take you hard drive out of the system.
* Secondly connect it with your other desktop. Don't worry it will not copy the virus over.
* Thirdly scan with Malware Byte's Anti-Malware.
* Voila.
2) If you do not have 2 computers then you have to download Ultimate Boot CD and slipstream a Anti-Malware programme before you burn the ISO to a disc.
* Download Ultimate Boot Disc.
* Slipstream with an Anti-Malware Programme such as Malware Bytes.
* Burn the slipstreamed ISO to a disc.
* Whilst booting from you CD you should get the Windows setup. Do not install a fresh windows you must press 'R' if you do not wish to format. 'R' means repair.

* Around 3-5 minutes you should get the command prompt which says Microsoft Windows<R> Recovery Console.

* Search and click on: 1: C\Windows but click on the 1 only.
* Click on the line underneath the 'Which installation would you like to log on to.
* Type in 1 and then press enter.
* Now you will go down to the second line which is to type the Administrator Password.
* If you dont have one press Enter if you do then type it in.
* Now next the C:\Widnows> type in expand d:\i386\userinit.ex_ c:\windows\system32
d:\ is my CD drive letter and yours might be different.
