Heres a quick detail of updates..
first.. You have a CFW of 5.00 m33-4 version, you should update to 5.00 m33-6
Then.. only you can update from 5.00 m33-6 to GEN A4 <<<---- Thats the first part of update of gen..
So you have to update like this:
>>>5.00 M33-4 to M33-6 to GEN 5.50 A4 to GEN 5.50 B to GEN 5.50 B2/FULL to GEN 5.50 D to GEN 5.50 D2 then finally GEN 5.50 D3..
5.00 M33-4
5.00 M33-6
GEN 5.50 A4
GEN 5.50 B
GEN 5.50 B2
GEN 5.50 B(FULL)
GEN 5.50 D
GEN 5.50 D2
GEN 5.50 D3
Note: There is a GEN 5.50 C update.. But you dont have to go and update C.. Just jump from B(FULL) to D.. Its safe.. I did it that way.. =))'
EXTRA INFO: If you updated to GEN cfw, There are certain functions that will be disabled..
Those are the VSH MENU, ISO DRIVER or UMD MODE, ADVANCED CONFIG..
**To activate VSH MENU just go RECOVERY MODE>CONFIG>USE VSH MENU select VSHMENU
**Then go to ADVANCED CONFIG through RECOVERY MODE>ADVANCED>ADVANCED CONFIG> Then look for plain modules.. ENABLE IT..
**Last in RECOVERY MODE>CONFIG>Look for UMD MODE select M33 DRIVER -NO UMD-
CONFIG stands for CONFIGURATION.. =))'
I Hope it helps mate.. enjoy.. =))'

hello mhie - I'm a noobie so bear with me - I have 5.00 M33-3 firmware. I've been told to run an update - how do i do that? I purchased my psp with this firmware already installed so I'm kind of clueless - sorry? Can you head me in the right direction - to a step by step or video etc. I'm concerned about looking at youtube - because I can't always trust people like i can here on psperspective.net! I think my firmware is M33 5.0 correct? Second my psp is a darth vaders slim psp - i think a 2000? No problem with bricking it with the Gen B upgrade? I want to do the upgrades gradually to make sure i don't screw it up! Muchas thanks!

btw, if you have some 5.00m33 you don't have to update to lot of gens. You can directly update to 5.50 gen d3. I've done it lot of times and it works as a charm
